A Holistic Path to Balance and Well-Being

At Mathon Therapy, reflexology is offered as a gentle, deeply relaxing complementary therapy that supports your body’s natural capacity to rebalance, unwind and restore harmony. With over 25 years’ experience, Philippe Mathon brings a holistic, client-centred approach to every session, emphasising the connection between mind, body and spirit.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a non-invasive, touch-based therapy focused on applying targeted pressure to specific areas — primarily on the feet, and sometimes the hands — that correspond to different parts of the body. Based on the idea that these points reflect the rest of the body, reflexology aims to encourage deep relaxation, support your body’s natural balance, and help reduce stress and tension.

Most people find reflexology a soothing and calming experience. Sessions take place in a comfortable reclined chair so you can fully relax while your therapist works through the reflex points to ease tension and promote well-being.

How Can Reflexology Help You?

Reflexology is commonly chosen for:

  • Stress reduction and relaxation

  • Improved nervous system balance

  • Support for general well-being and calmness

  • Relief from daily tension and muscle tightness

  • Enhanced sense of energy flow and resilience

While reflexology does not diagnose or cure specific medical conditions, many clients report feeling more centred, relaxed and better able to cope with everyday stresses following treatment.

What Happens During a Session?

Your first visit includes a friendly consultation where Philippe will ask about your medical history, lifestyle, and wellness goals. This helps tailor each session to your unique needs.

A typical reflexology treatment includes:

✔ A warm, welcoming environment
✔ Gentle pressure applied to reflex points on the feet (or hands if chosen)
✔ A session lasting around 45–60 minutes, depending on your treatment plan
✔ A focus on deep relaxation and ease

Because reflexology works gently and holistically, it’s suitable for many people — including those new to complementary therapy. Some areas might feel firm or sensitive, but the pressure is always applied with your comfort in mind.

How Many Treatments Might You Need?

The number of sessions recommended varies. Many clients find that three weekly treatments provide a good basis to assess how reflexology is helping before exploring further sessions.
